Opening to the public on 7 September 2022 at Palazzo della Ragione in Mantua, in conjunction with Festivaletteratura, is the exhibition devoted to Fortunato Depero, intelligent creator of the Futurist aesthetics theorized in the Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe, which he authored with Giacomo Balla in 1915.
Acrobatic Automatic Depero presents for the first time in Mantua some 90 significant works from the timespan 1917-1938, and it will remain open to the public until 26 February 2023.
The exhibition is conceived by Electa in collaboration with the Mart, Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, exclusively for the premises of Palazzo della Ragione.
The curator is Nicoletta Boschiero, head of the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero.

On the occasion of the Literature Festival, from 7 to 10 September, the exhibition will exceptionally remain open until 11pm, with the ticket office open until 10pm.
From 8pm to 10pm admission to Automatic Acrobatic Depero will be possible with the purchase of the promotional ticket for only 6 euros, while the standard classes of visitors will remain entitled to free admission.

The exhibition is held in Palazzo della Ragione di Mantova, built in 1251, a remarkable medieval building in Piazza delle Erbe. Recently restored after the earthquake in 2012, on its walls it has large frescoes that recount the story of the community of Mantua.
The large rectangular hall of the palace is bare on the principal walls and has a completely modern roof frame. The important surviving frescoes cover, in several layers, the entrance wall (south-west wall) and the back wall (north-east wall), the one closest to the complex of the Palazzo del Podestà. However, the wall to the left of the entrance is also has traces of frescoes, as is the case of the various corners of the hall. This means that the pictorial surface formerly covered its whole surface.
